The Life Giving Sword

Tuesday morning, opening post +

Hello World

i guess i will start this blog with a brief introduction. as with all things which are written, without a formal introduction it can become incomprehensible and eventually too enigmatic to enjoy.

I choose to name this blog ‘The Life Giving Sword’. Mainly because i will be taking you, the reader, into places where the very words that you read can spring life or utterly destroy it.

Like a sword wielded in the hands of a master with good intentions, can protect and preserve life, only applying the edge of the blade in the most dire circumstances and in the end protecting life.

Or the same sword in the hands of a fool, using the power he shelters to direct the blade in a fashion in which it becomes an instrument of death and control or even terror and imprisonment.

Definitely spoken in the metaphorical sense that words are like a sword, in which they can give life or cause one to shrivel into a lifeless existence.

The Term - The Life Giving Sword

This term comes from the Japanese Writings on the No-Sword philosophy (http://books.google.com/books?id=_7iMaZvIf-YC&printsec=frontcover&dq=the+life+giving+sword&cd=1) Stemming from my background in Aikido, a Japanese martial art and philosophy. And undeniably from my Judeo-Christian roots which are infused into every thing i produce in the land of my imagination. A close look into these disciplines will draw clear lines that merge each into one obvious family; LOVE for God and Love for the people you meet in life.

In this blog i will share my writings which are presented in short story format (since i dislike really long narratives and only have so much time on my hands) and i will strive to make  daily if then a weekly appearance with proverbs and words of wisdom. All in the effort of having an enjoyable and pleasant reading experience. There is much useless stuff floating around cyberspace that i had to make my point here and add tot he useful things one can read and follow on a daily basis.

I am a writer who enjoys sci-fi and fantasy fiction. Among my favorite literary regurgitation’s is the wonderful and horrible world of Manga. I say wonderful because it is openly much more unrestricted than American graphic novels (on a budget and moral basis) and horrible because most of the novels in print would better serve as sanitary paper than a readers pass-time.

I also enjoy a very rare taste in music. IDM, Ambient, Drone, basically anything music that requires a person to have robot ears in order to enjoy. I despise top 40 music and would prefer read Deuteronomy than listen to popular music. (not that Deuteronomy is bad only a very tedious and difficult read)

I hope to hear from all my readers so we could share thoughts and opinions and engage in cyber chit chat.

Blessings to you,

Seraph Trend
